Energize, Balance & Reduce Stress
by Daniel Noyes M.S.

The life force or chi that is the source of our being on this physical plane is available to us in great abundance. The art of practicing meditation and
mindful presence is one modality that allows us the opportunity to focus and tap into that "all present energy"… to energize, find balance and joyful calm.
Practicing yoga is also a great way to tap into that energy, to release stress, and develop a mindful presence towards living in the moment. The breathing and various yoga poses help release stored up blockages and promote a flow of energy through our physical and subtle bodies.

Unfortunately, we can not meditate or practice yoga 24 hours a day. Finding that quiet place inside ourselves and a sense of physical and energetic balance can sometimes be difficult outside the confines of meditation and yoga. Further, we are surrounded by things that can cause stress and put us out of balance on a regular basis. There are the ever-present stresses of air, food and water pollution, as well as the stress of a modern day fast-paced lifestyle. The emotional and mental stresses from work and personal relationships can also have a dramatic effect on our natural balanced state.

What if we could access this energy and mindful presence on a regular basis in our daily lives, as well as on a deeper level during meditation and yoga? We would move closer to a state of ‘perfect balance', where our chakra energy centers and acupuncture meridians would regularly maintain vibrancy and balance, and daily life would have less stress and be more joyful.

Here are some helpful suggestions for maintaining a mindful focus and reducing stress:

Remember to pause and take deep slow breaths when you feel stressed.
Drink plenty of water.
Avoid doing things in excess.
Maintain a healthy and nutritious diet, and minimize the intake of caffeine.
Take a break from your daily or weekly routines and do something completely different.
Spend some time alone every day.
Get out in nature whenever time permits.
Take advantage of holistic modalities such as chiropractic, massage, & reiki.
Try not to take things personally, no one is perfect.
Excercise regularly.
Practice meditation or yoga 4-5 times a week.
